In a nutshell
This module is a timer relay with two changeover contacts.
By connecting the 2 input terminals, the relay is activated for a time ranging from 1 second to over 3 minutes 30.
The adjustment of the time delay is done simply with the potentiometer and a micro screwdriver.

Applications
The relay's contacts on the module allow a very generic use.
Some use cases are listed below.
Some use cases are listed below.
- Timed station stop.
- Activation of an automatic system (level crossing,…) for a defined time.
- Triggering of an automatism (sound, …) at the end of the time delay.
- Activation of a light for a given time.
Installation and wiring of the module
To start up this module, simply connect a power supply between 8 and 16 V AC / DC (12 V DC recommended) to the power supply terminal block and that's it!
The power supply terminal is not polarized, so you can connect the – and + of the power supply as you wish.
All you have to do is connect a push button, an reed switch, a relay, or any other equivalent type of contactor.

Examples of use
Triggering a sound at the end of a delay
This diagram shows how to interconnect the timer relay with the LEC008011 sound module. This assembly can be used to trigger a sound automatically at the end of a time delay (e.g.: whistle of the station master, …)
Activation of a light for a specific time
In this example, the lighting is turned on when the push button is pressed. It remains lit for the duration of the timer.
Automatic timed stop in station (DCC version)
In this example, a train arriving at a station is detected by a reed switch, an IR sensor, or equivalent.- The sensor switches on the time delay for the set time, during which the stop module is no longer bypassed, thus becoming active.
- At the end of the delay time, the relay returns to the idle state.
- The stop module is shunted and the train accelerates according to the parameters programmed in the decoder.
Optional: It is possible to add an additional switch to choose whether or not the train passing through the station should stop, or to restart it before the end of the delay.
Automatic timed stop in station (Analog version)
In this example, a train arriving at a station is detected by a reed switch, an IR sensor, or equivalent.- The sensor starts the time delay for the set time, during which the current in the stop zone is cut off, thus stopping the train.
- At the end of the delay time, the relay returns to the idle state.
- The power is restored and the train restarts.
Optional: It is possible to add an additional switch to choose whether or not the train passing through the station should stop, or to restart it before the end of the delay.
